At The Center for the Third Way  we explore the application of masculine and feminine universal energies to create the highest of possibilities within and between individuals, teams, organizations, cultures, and political parties. We believe it is essential that the feminine/masculine come together to create the powerful possibility of another way -  a third way.The Third Way we are referring to is the sublime place that is created as the evolved masculine and feminine face one another, honor one another, dance with one another and deliberately co-create!

 

The lens of masculine and feminine energies creates a perspective that impacts every aspect of our lives. Consider how these social constructs silently influence how we view each other, the world and ourselves. We have had both women’s and men’s movements. What is possible when we explore these as energies that impact both men and women rather then view them as gender specific? Since these energies are as fundamental as the air we breathe, it is important to begin by surfacing unconscious assumptions we carry in order to discern the masculine and feminine energies that serve or limit our desired impact. As we open to and honor these polarity energies in their authentic and evolving form, we also explore what these energies look and feel like when they are out of alignment with one another. What does authentic masculine energy look like in a woman and vice versa? The intention is to organically move towards a natural alignment where rather than opposing or overpowering each other, these energies begin to work together. This personal blend of aligned masculine and feminine energies creates a third energy, which is both yet neither  - neutral yet all powerful - a lifeforce energy of manifesting your highest possibility. This Lifeforce is limitless as we continually evolve and align the f/m energies within us to create a third energy over and over as we move up the spiral of possibility.

Third Way Workshop and Teleclass 

Surfing the Masculine / Feminine Mobius: This 3-day workshop is an experiential journey beginning with considering how these social constructs silently influence how we view ourselves, each other, and the world... to awakening and expressing your unique and evolving masculine/feminine energies. Discover how to work with this powerful lens to co-create your highest possibility. On our journey together, you will:

• Gain a deeper awareness of masculine and feminine energies within yourself and others and learn to discern between masculine and feminine energies that serve or limit your desired impact.

• Take home a conceptual framework, language, exercises and tools to apply this work in tangible ways.

The Power of Intention and Intuition Teleclass: A Third Way Approach to Reach Your Highest Possibility with Ease: a 4-session teleclass where you learn to tap into the powerful combination of setting intentions and following your intuition. Life can be easy, fluid and fun – It doesn’t have to be as hard as we often make it. Unlike goals, this model is one that blends the power of feminine and masculine energies by first creating direction based on your passion and coupling this with learning to use your intuition to take inspired action. 

Desire is in your heart for a reason - to lead you toward your highest possibility. Learning to want and claiming it with intention creates a soft, yet powerful focus that sits in your subconscious as a keen observer attracting opportunities. Your intuition comes into play by creating urges and lighting up pathways that support the intention – the trick is be able to discern when it is truly your intuitive knowing at work and when your are operating from fear. Intuition is like a muscle – with regular use and some daily practices, intuition coupled with intention can become a solid and powerful tool in your life. You will leave this teleclass with:

• A method for powerfully setting intentions 
• A set of clear intentions in areas of your life you would like to change or develop
• Tools and techniques for accessing and using intuition
• Tools to address barriers to manifesting your intentions

Use of Terms

The Third Way: A personal blend of aligned feminine and masculine energies creates a third energy force (a third way), which is both, yet neither, neutral and all-powerful --- because it does not oppose, but causes the polarities to simultaneously blend and flow into each other. The spark of lifeforce created within this third energy is the path to manifesting your highest possibility. This evolving blend of f/m energies continues to create a third energy over and over as we move up the spiral of possibility.

Co-Creation: Actively engaging in the creative process with *source and/or another, in the ongoing expansion and evolution of consciousness. (*sometimes referred to as Self, Universal Intelligence, Godforce, God, Goddess, Spirit).

Lifeforce/Sexual Energy: Sublime sexual energy is synonymous with lifeforce, the co-creative force of the universe. It is experienced as total aliveness.

Shells: Shells are the false, 2-dimensional “default” expressions of our masculine or feminine energies. We all have them – ways in which we have learned to be in the world that somehow overlay our core self. Shells tend to be an “out of balance” expression/over-identification with either the masculine or feminine. 

Shadows: A disowned or repressed part of the self.  Typically, this is a part of the self that is disowned or repressed because it is not perceived as valuable or likeable.  When we reject an aspect of ourselves, authentic expression of our core self is blocked.

Along with the expression of shells and repression of shadows we tend to develop resistance. Resistance of the inner masculine or feminine is natural when one or both is dysfunctional or attempting to overpower the other. As a result, we adopt coping mechanisms to compensate for this misalignment. A few examples follow.

• Inner feminine resistance to inner masculine: trouble with boundaries, focus, discernment and bringing into form. Energy dissipates.
• Inner masculine resistance to inner feminine: difficulty experiencing unconditional love, flow, joy, meaning and life’s magic.

Polarities: Polarities often go by a variety of names: paradoxes, dilemmas, contention, and interdependent opposites. What would you do if you had to choose between breathing out and breathing in? Like breathing, because the two sides of the masculine and feminine polarity are interdependent, you cannot choose one as a 'solution' and neglect the other. When we tap into and align the power of polar energies the inherent tension is transformed into a creative synergy or what we refer to as a third energy – lifeforce.

Dark Side of The Light Chasers by Debbie Ford, describes how we hide and deny our dark sides and reviews practical methods to reclaim them. Although she doesn't specifically mention f/m, her approach works to surface, claim and develop those aspects of the f/m that are blocked.

David Deida  http://www.bluetruth.org, a leader in exploring male and female spirituality he has CD's, seminars, books and more. His book Intimate Communion is a great place to begin!

Variety of Books by Robert Johnson, as a noted lecturer and Jungian analyst, he is the author of multiple books exploring myth as a method for understanding masculine and feminine psychology. Books include He, She, We, Ecstasy and more.

Hug an Angry Man; and you will see he is crying, Stories and Poems By Sean Casey Leclaire,  a journey into a man's heart. This book  contains the Invocation: Men Come in the Room.

The Left Hand of God ,A new book by Rabbi Michael Lerner which is about the importance of connecting to the Feminine side of spirituality to transform this country and the world.  It's a bit political, but very pertinent to the conversation.

Aphrodite's Daughters by Jalaja  Bonheim, Ph. D., is a series of stories exploring how a woman's sexual experience affect her spiritual unfolding.

The Heroine's Journey by Maureen Murdock, She traces her journey from rejection of the feminine in order to "succeed" in a masculine world to a healing of the separated feminine and of the wounded masculine within herself. She ends with the hope for true conjunction, true union beyond duality.

King Warrior Magician Lover by Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette, provides a Jungian introduction to the psychological foundations of a mature, authentic, and revitalized masculinity.

The Hunger for Ecstasy by Jalaja Bonheim, Ph.D., Bonheim helps us to see desire as sacred, as our clear  "pathway to the Divine...the great hunger...the magnet that attracts us to God, the fuel that drives the spiritual quest, and the compelling force behind our immense appetite for life, love, and adventure."

Abraham-Hicks, leaders in understanding the universal laws of attraction and the science of deliberate creation and putting them into practical use. They have CD's, seminars, books and more! The Book Ask and it is Given is a great place to start.

Divine Intuition by Lynn A. Robinson, M.Ed., an inspiring guide to reconnecting with your inner wisdom, sometimes referred to as intuition, or that little voice.

The Power of Intention by Dr. Wayne Dyer, his core teachings go way beyond the power of positive thought and speak to tapping into a universal source of energy that can also be called the "power of intention." Intention is both directional and requires opening to flow and, therefore, is an excellent Third Way tool!

The Wave Series  (DVD's) by Gabrielle Roth,acclaimed worldwide for her pioneering work with the Wave – a form of ecstatic dance teaching us to move and spontaneously improvise to five universal rhythms. A great way to reclaim the body, workout and create a spiritual practice all in one!

Explore the Dark Feminine's Transformative Power and Wisdom

The Illuminating Black Madonna - Sue Monk Kidd Lecture given on April 13, 2005. See her lecture at http://www.cathedral.org/cathedral/video/kidd050413.shtml. She shares her personal perspective and experience of the Black Madonna as a powerful and re-emerging energy for both men and women.

Dancing in the Flames - The Dark Goddess in the Transformation of Conciousness by Marion Woodman and Elinor Dickson,  explores how the  re-emergence of the dark feminine in our time indicates our readiness to move to an entirely new level of conciousness. As with The Third Way, a key premise of this book  is willingness to hold opposites without opposition. A must read for those serious about this journey!

Novels with a Message

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown , a suspense thriller that takes us beyond the main plot and leads us on a quest for the Holy Grail - a Grail totally unlike anything we have been taught to believe. This novel introduces us to new aspects and interpretations of Western history and Christianity.

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd,  a novel about divine female power, bringing in another aspect of the feminine through the legend of the Black Madonna.

The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley,  the story of King Arthur from the perspective of women. A personal favorite - my journey began with this book over 15 years ago.
